The Weskus Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 13 March at the Langebaan Boutique Hotel.
All interested parties are invited to attend. Both the president and treasurer will present their reports on the status of the chamber.
The organisation, which represents businesses in the West Coast region of South Africa, has the core function of promoting economic development advocating for the interests of iets members, providing networking opportunities, and offering business support services.
“The chamber aims to create a conductive environment for business growth and development in the region.” According to Committee member Clive Coetzee/
“Its core values typically include integrity, professionalism, collaboration and a commitment to the economic prosperity of the West Coast region.” He said a special guest speaker will share some very interesting and informative information.
“Furthermore there will be ample time for networking so please bring your business cards. The name of the game for the AGM is ‘business’. The Weskus Chamber of Commerce has several key functions.
These include:
- Advocacy: Representing the interests of businesses in the West Coast region by advocating for policies that promote economic growth and development.
- Networking: Providing opportunities for the businesses to connect and network with each other, fostering collaboration and partnerships.
- Business support: Offering support services and resources to help businesses thrive, including access to information and mentorship.
- Promotion: Promoting the West Coast region as a desirable place to do business, attracting investment and tourism.
- Information sharing: Keeping members informed about relevant news, trends and opportunities in the region and beyond.
“Overall, the Weskus Chamber plays a crucial role in driving economic development and supporting the business community in the West Coast region,” Coetzee pointed out.
He shared his vision for the chamber: “To be the leading voice and catalyst for economic growth and development in the West Coast region, fostering a vibrant and sustainable business community that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity.”
- All paid-up businesses and interested businesses are most welcome to attend the AGM. Only paid-up members will be able to cote on matters, such as proposed amendments to the constitution, management committee members, financial statements, marketing strategies, chamber portfolios and any other items raised at the AGM. The meeting starts at 17:30 for 18:00. The first 40 members attend for free (one person per member). Additional members at R250 (three course meal included). RSVP at imraanadjiet1@gmail.com.
