Management companies in the Western Cape have recorded a more than 20% drop in arrivals to their establishments due to the significant knock that the local hospitality industry experienced as a result of the international coverage that Day Zero gained.
Even though the destination is out of hot water, with dam levels rising as a result of the recent rainfall, it still needs to market itself, more than ever, as a water-wise, sustainable tourist destination.
