The Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”) financed by Agence Française de Développement Women Enterprise Framework
08-22 February 2021.
Genesis Analytics (“Genesis”) has been appointed by the Industrial Development Corporation (“IDC”) financed by Agence Française de Développement, to develop a strategy framework that will support the IDC’s vision for increasing the participation of women in the economy so that the IDC might better serve women entrepreneurs, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Genesis are the largest economics-based consulting firm in Africa and their analytical capabilities to improve decision-making to unlock substantial value for their clients and society. Part of Genesis Analytics brief includes consulting women entrepreneurs to better understand the challenges they face in accessing financial and non-financial support.

The objectives of the research are confirmed as follows:
Gain a better understanding of the unique needs, risk profiles and borrowing behaviours of women entrepreneurs;
Assess the extent to which the IDC’s current orientation (organisational form and practices, and investment policies, processes and products) is sufficiently responsive to women entrepreneurs, and supports the achievement of organisational targets;
Develop a strategy framework, accompanied by practical tools and recommended actions, that addresses current IDC shortcomings and incorporates best practice, and against which progress can be tracked.
To this end, they are requesting women entrepreneurs to be part of this research by availing themselves for a short interview and survey. The plan is to conduct a survey and also to convene a series of virtual interviews or group discussions. Crucially, they also want to speak with women entrepreneurs who have perhaps been rejected for support.

This research will be taking place from 08 – 22 February 2021. Interested parties are to send their contact details as soon as possible to be included in this study to:
